CPSA-A DDD
Certified Professional Software Architect
Advanced Level: Domain-Driven Design

Target Audience & Context:

  • Experienced software architects with CPSA-F certification

  • Technical leads responsible for large systems

  • Requirements Engineers & Product Owners with an architectural background

  • Dev leads in complex or domain-driven projects

  • Complements CPSA-F well (see our training concept)

Business Benefits:

  • Leads to software that fits both the organization and the domain

  • Minimizes misunderstandings between business and tech via shared language

  • Supports strategic decomposition and system boundaries, reducing long-term maintenance cost

  • Enables autonomous, domain-aligned teams (e.g. microservices, team boundaries via bounded contexts)

  • Speeds up decision-making by linking architecture and business logic more closely

Description:

In this advanced-level course, participants learn how to strategically and structurally map complex business domains into software architectures. The focus of Domain-Driven Design according to Eric Evans is on concepts such as Ubiquitous Language, Bounded Contexts, Strategic Design, and Context Mapping.

Unlike purely technical architecture approaches, DDD prioritizes a thorough understanding of the business domain. The course enables architects and technical leads to collaborate effectively with domain experts to develop robust software structures that accurately reflect business realities.

The course has been completely redeveloped as part of the accreditation process, thoroughly reviewed by iSAQB, and officially approved as a new accreditation. Including all exam topics, it fully covers the corresponding current iSAQB syllabus. To ensure sustainable learning outcomes, syllabus topics are supplemented with numerous practical exercises and additional content.

To qualify for an iSAQB Advanced-Level certification exam, participants must have successfully obtained the CPSA-F certificate and additionally collected at least 70 credit points (CP) by attending accredited Advanced-Level modules. These credit points are divided into three competence areas: Technology, Communication, and Methodology. By attending this module, you will earn 10 credit points in Communication and 20 credit points in Methodology.

No additional exam is required to obtain these credit points, but a minimum attendance of 75% is mandatory. Therefore, cameras must remain switched on throughout the online course. Upon successful participation, you will receive an official confirmation of attendance, explicitly stating the awarded credit points.

Session+: Reflecting practical implementation (optional, 2 hrs)

A good training doesn't end on the last day—it proves itself in practice. That's why, three weeks after course completion, we offer an additional, optional 2-hour online session included in the course fee. Together with your trainer and fellow participants, you’ll reflect on how you've practically applied the learned content in your daily work. Your specific benefits:

  • For companies: Direct benefit through employees’ practical application of training contents in their projects.

  • For participants: Gain valuable insights and concrete experiences from the entire group, facilitating effective transfer into practice.

This aligns with our core principle at ARQ Solutions: We provide training with the goal of sustainable, practical application—because real success becomes visible only after the course ends. If you're unable to attend the scheduled Session+, we'll gladly try to find a suitable alternative.
